Cr 24 Chromium
Chromium metal is a very hard and shiny silvery metal and has many colorful compounds. A lot of these are quite toxic, like Chromium(VI), e.g. as CrO3, is a very dangerous environmental toxin. Elemental chromium is widely used for plating for optical reasons and corrosion protection. Chromium metal is added to steel, to make it stainless.
Chromium metal itself is harmless, but its salts and compound are very dangerous for health.
